This thoughtfully designed two-storey rear addition transforms a charming 1930s Leaside residence into a home that embraces contemporary family living while respecting its original character.

The central challenge was finding the perfect relationship between the kitchen, dining room and family room, while incorporating a new powder room into the main-floor layout.

After exploring several design possibilities, we arrived at a plan that places the kitchen at the heart of the home. A graceful archway connects it to the dining room, while an open connection to the family room creates an effortless flow between spaces.

Expansive windows in the new family room draw natural light deep into the home, allowing even the centrally located kitchen to feel bright and welcoming.

The architectural approach balances clean, modern lines with warmth and timeless detailing, creating spaces that are beautiful, functional and inviting.

Featured on the cover of Canadian Home Trends Magazine, Project Donegall is a wonderful example of how a carefully considered addition can completely transform the experience of an older Toronto home.
